The vacation is over peeps and the one and only Gossip Girl has some juicy stories to tell that you totally won't want to miss.
Over holiday break, Serena went to Buenos Aires with artsy Aaron and tango'd her little ass off. She dumped Aaron a mere three hours into her and Aaron's South America-bound 15 hour flight. Anyone else ever broken up with someone 30,000 feet up? Or been broken up with? I'd love to hear the story. Little Jenny is getting her butt back in school after a misguided trek into the high fashion world. Blair is working to climb the social ladder with the Colony Club, a hoity-toity women's social club. Ultimately Blair's just trying to forget about Chuck who has been living high on everything but life in who knows what country.
It's the first day back to school and Rufus decides to take Dan under his little wing and walk his boy to school. Dan gives in after a little huffing and puffing but draws the line at Rufus trying to hug him. Blair and Dorota are working out plans for Blair's meeting with the Colony Club women when Blair gets a text message from Jack Bass. Apparently Jack is Chuck's uncle. I don't think we've seen him before, if so then I don't remember him. You can expect to see a lot more of Jack in the episodes to come. Jack tells Blair that Chuck is back, but he doesn't bother telling her the horrible shape Chuck is in. Jack has to carry Chuck to his room because Chuck is drunk and high. I guess he won't be making it to the first day of school. Then again, who the hell needs school when they've got a billion dollars in the bank.
Serena and Dan meet up at school and she fills him in on dumping Aaron. They both talk about how their parents have broken up for good now, although neither seems to know why. What this is all leading upto is Serena and Dan getting back together which they don't waste any time doing. Gossip Girl poses the question, "Is the third time a charm?" I guess we'll just have to see. Blair and Serena catch up, Blair spills to Serena that she told Chuck she loved him and now he's a complete mess. Serena fills Blair in on her and Dan hooking up again. Blair could careless though, unlike the rest of us she clearly doesn't understand that we've all been waiting with bated breath for Dan and Serena to get back together.
Lily stops by Rufus's gallery and reveals to him that their child is a boy. She doesn't just come out and tell him that though, she works it into their argument. Rufus is happy to at least know the gender, but he still would like to get in contact with his newly discovered son. Lily refuses to give him contact information though saying she just wants to let him live his life. Rufus says that's fine he'll get the information on his own.
Jenny is already looking to cause trouble on her first day of school. As soon as she arrives Nelly, the current 'it' girl in training and being bullied by the 'it' crowd, welcomes her with open arms. The 'it' crowd aren't so thrilled to see Jenny and are pissed when Nelly welcomes her. Jenny hates seeing Nelly bullied but Eric is there to try to keep her from getting involved in their drama again.
Chuck arrives wasted to school and quickly gets in trouble for smoking hash on school property. He has to have a meeting with the headmistress and Blair tags along to represent him considering he obviously can't represent himself. Soon enough Jack Bass also steps in. Jack and Blair try to reason with the headmistress not to suspend him but Chuck doesn't make things better for himself when he lights up another joint and walks out.
The after school special for the day is Dan and Serena about to have 'together again' sex. Rufus walks in just in time to ruin it for all of us though. He tells Serena he thinks it's time for her to go home. He is not happy with Lily therefore he's going to take it out on Serena I guess.
The next morning at breakfast Rufus isn't talking and Dan asks what is going on with him and Lily. Jenny is totally out of the loop and has no idea what is going on or that there has even been a conflict brewing between Rufus and Lily. Rufus isn't talking though and rushes the two off to school.
At school, Blair blows off her 'it' posse which really shows how much she has grown. Either that or she's just too preoccupied with the Chuck drama at the moment. Blair goes to Serena for advice and she's being totally overdramatic. She and Chuck are definitely a match because both play up the dramatics.
After school Jenny, Eric and Nelly go to Pinkberry or a knock-off of it and take the regular 'it' crowd table. When the 'it' girls come in they demand the three move but they hold their ground and tell the girls there are plenty other places to sit. Just then a bunch of people come into the place, apparently Jenny invited half the school, and now the 'it' girls don't have any place to sit. Penelope of the 'it' group calls her daddy and tells him that they are bullying her and asks him to call the headmistress.
Blair finds Chuck at the strip club he used to own and owns yet again. He is throwing a party there tonight and is still drunk and high and not caring much about anything, especially Blair. Blair has to go home and get ready for her meeting with the Colony Club women. She texts Serena on her way home to get to her house asap so Serena rushes there. By the time Serena gets there though Blair has collected herself and decided to forget about Chuck, or at least act like it. The Colony Club women arrive, Serena tells Blair that they need to help Chuck but Blair is more concerned with climbing the social ladder in the Colony Club. Serena tells her to forget about that but Blair refuses saying she needs to focus on rebuilding her life. Serena leaves and Blair has her meeting with the women. Serena was right about the whole thing, within minutes of the interview the ladies are grilling Blair on her relationships with page six cover girl Serena and billion-dollar bad boy Chuck Bass. At first Blair tries to say she doesn't have relationships with either but then she decides this really isn't for her and she tells them that Serena and Chuck are really good people and that obviously judging by the Colony Club high school never ends for some people. She then walks out to go help Chuck.
Over at the Humphrey household Dan is starting to piece things together. He finds the number of an adoption agency in Boston in his dad's bag. Jenny scores a windfall of her own when Nelly blabs to her and Eric about the 'it' girls and their secrets. Jenny gets the idea that they will blackmail the girls by threatening to make their secrets public on the Gossip Girl site.
Dan confronts Rufus when he gets home but Rufus still won't tell him what happened but he does happen to mention Chuck being apart of it all. So, Dan goes to see Chuck to get the scoop. Chuck tells Dan everything, his dad and Lily had a secret child and Lily gave it up for a adoption without Rufus knowing. This means that Dan and Serena have a shared sibling. Though they still aren't directly related it seems a little odd that they would be dating. I mean, if they got married Dan would be the sibling's brother/brother-in-law and Serena would be his sister/sister-in-law. Kind of creepy.
Jenny shows up at Chuck's party and with Eric and Nelly at her side again she threatens the 'it' girls with exposing their secrets. Penelope finally gives in and tells Jenny she can be the queen bitch. Jenny laughs and says she doesn't want it. Penelope takes back the offer and the posse walk into the party. Nelly even turns her back on Jenny. It turns out she was just hoping Jenny would be the new queen bitch but now that she's not Nelly has to suck back upto Penelope before the upcoming collegiate event. Looks like it's back to just Jenny and Eric.
Rufus and Lily make up, he tells her that he doesn't hate her, he just needs time to figure things out. They decide they need to go find their child to resolve this whole thing.
Blair and Jack team up to try to help Chuck. They find him on the roof teetering over the edge about to fall. It doesn't help that Jack yells out surprising Chuck and nearly sends him falling to his death. Blair hits Jack for being so dumb. They both try to talk Chuck into coming down from the edge but he says his father didn't love him and no one cares about him. Blair finally is able to talk him down and tells him that she'll always be there for him. Chuck finally drops the act and apologizes to Blair. Whew... crisis averted.
Dan pulls Serena aside at the party and tells her that they need to talk. Just as they go outside to talk Dan gets a call from Rufus. Dan tells Rufus he already knows and he's about to tell Serena. Rufus begs him not to tell Serena, he says it's Lily's place to do that, and then Rufus tells him that he and Lily will be going away for a little while to try to find their child. Dan really wants to tell Serena but he goes along with it anyway.
The end of the episode leaves us with a cliffhanger until next week. Blair helps Jack get Chuck into a car so they can head home. Before Jack and Chuck leave Blair tells Jack that Chuck can't know what happened on New Year's Eve. Hmm... looks like Chuck might not be the only Bass to try out a little Blair Waldorf.
