TV News Update: Paula Abdul Says 'American Idol' Producers Sabotaged Her

Paula AbdulPaula AbdulThe LA Times reports that Paula Abdul revealed to Barbara Walters on an sateliite radio interview that she had asked American Idol producers to not allow a woman who had reportedly been stalking her for "17 years" to audition for the show. Paula Goodspeed committed suicide in front of Paula's home in November. "She had been writing disturbing letters for 17 years, almost 18 years," Abdul  told Walters. "We had restraining orders at times." Abdul says that "I said, 'This girl is a stalker of mine. Please do not let her in.' Everyone knew. I was shaking."

TV Guide reports that NBC has offered host Jay Leno a weeknight 10 PM slot after he leaves the Tonight Show in May of next year. "Hey guys, guys, leave those boxes. I'm not going anywhere! Yeah, we're staying!," Leno joked in his first monologue since the announcement. "I am absolutely thrilled that Jay is staying at NBC," Conan O'Brien said, who is taking over the Tonight Show in June of 2009. "He has been my lead-in on this program for 16 seasons. He is a fantastic lead-in."

People reports that T.R. Knight who plays George O'Malley on ABC's Grey's Anatomy has asked producers to be let out of his contract. Sources say that Knight will likely be granted his request. A rep for Knight denies reports that Knight is no longer showing up for table readings and has cleaned out his dressing room. “He has been there every day. He was at a table read yesterday. He hasn’t said goodbye to anyone.”

Spoiler Alert! TV Guide reports that the rumored gay character on 90210 will be cheerleader Cristina (played by Lauren London). Cristina, who flirted with Tristan Wild's character Dixon in an episode last month, will reportedly be revealed as bisexual and having a girlfriend.
