Gossip Girl: It's A Wonderful Lie (Episode 130)

The annual Charity Snowflake Ball is this week and it's the center of a dramatastic episode that ends with someone dying!

Blair is busy selecting a date for the Ball and having a difficult time. She has an entire book to look through of potential suitors. B has such a hard life. Meanwhile, Dan and Serena are playing their usual cat and mouse game. At first it seems as though both may go alone and meet up at the dance but then Dan tags along with Serena to go see Aaron at the gallery. To no surprise Serena asks Aaron to the Ball and he accepts, but then a real screwball comes into the equation and her name is Lexi. She is Aaron's ex and for whatever unbelieveable reason she's in NYC. After a few awkward moments between everyone Dan gets signed up to give Lexi a tour of the city, which eventually ends up turning into a foursome event. You know S is thrilled about this one.

Jenny is keeping herself busy cleaning and reorganizing the entire loft trying her best to keep her mind off her future, or lack thereof. Vanessa stops by and, of course, talk turns to Nate and they apologize to one another for the whole cat fight before. Vanessa tells Jenny it's probably better if she just lets Nate go. Just then Vanessa's cell rings and guess who? It's the only and only Archibald calling. Vanessa says she has to get to the gallery and rushes off to talk to Nate. Later, she and Nate meet up and they are totally back on again, making out for the world to see. Vanessa reminds Nate they are in Gossip Girl territory so they better be careful, it's too late though someone has already snapped a pic and GG is sending it out to the masses. Just wait till J gets ahold of this.

Penelope, one of Blair's bitches, stops by to ask J to make her a dress for the Ball. She tells J she doesn't want to be friends, she just wants a custom dress. Against all common sense J agrees to make her one. While Penelope is there they both get text messages from GG with the pic of Nate and Vanessa kissing. Jenny has a "oh no she didn't!" moment.

Lily goes to Rufus to talk to him about the Ball, but Bart - whom Lily had still not been talking to -- drops in on their impromptu visit. He wants to take Lily to the Ball, she agrees reluctantly. He tells her that he has fired the private investigator and will not be looking into their past or having them followed anymore. Lily tells him that may not be enough.

Things come to a head between Vanessa and Jenny. Vanessa tells J that she's just jealous, as if Vanessa wasn't jealous when she found that letter from Nate to J and stole it. Vanessa makes one last dig before she runs off, she tells J that she and Nate are going to the Ball together. Take that!

Blair is no longer looking over her suitors but instead she and Chuck make a bet. Since they are basically dating, though in a very twisted way, they decide to choose each other's dates. If Chuck actually likes his date then Blair gets his limo for one month, if Blair likes her date then Chuck gets Derota's for a month. They waste no time trying to find the perfect person for each other, even though ultimately you know they really don't want either to like their dates. Blair turns to Derota to help her and Derota is more than happy to help because she certainly doesn't want to be shining Chuck's shoes for the next month. I don't blame her.

While Serena, Aaron, Dan and Lexi are on their foursome NYC walking tour they all talk about the Ball. Lexi is feeling a little left out since she obviously won't be going, so what does Dan do? He asks her to go with him. Who else would he have gone with anyway? Serena and Aaron are just ecstatic about this plan, they can do the Ball as a foursome, how cute... or not.

Remember how Bart was being so nice to Lily just a few scenes ago and claiming he'd changed? Don't buy it. Bart is once again being an asshole to Chuck blowing him shit about not being good enough again. Bart heads to Miami for a meeting, or at least that's what he says he's doing.

J goes to Penelope's place and B's entire posse is there, minus queen B herself. At first they are standoff-ish with J because of the whole Vanessa and Nate pic on GG, but then J tells them that she and Vanessa aren't friends anymore and they all warm up to her again. One of the dresses they are trying on ends up being see-through and it gives them an idea that J could give the dress to Vanessa to wear to the Ball so they can embarrass her in front of Nate. You'd think the supposed reformed Jenny might reject the idea but instead she jumps all over it heading directly to the gallery to give Vanessa the see-through dress. She tells Vanessa that it's sort of a peace offering. Vanessa isn't sure what to make of the offer but tries on the dress and really likes it. She feels bad now about keeping the truth from Jenny about Nate's letter and just about tells her but then decides to tell Nate first. After J leaves she calls Nate and tells him that she needs to tell him something before the Ball.

Serena and Blair hang out painting their toe nails. You'd think as rich as they are they'd be getting mani's and pedi's and having everyone do it all for them but I guess the economy has affected everyone. Anyway, Serena tells Blair that Dan is going with Lexi to the Ball and that Aaron told her that Lexi always sleeps with guys on the first date. I'm sure Serena really wanted to know that. Serena reveals to Blair that she and Aaron still haven't slept together. Blair tells her that she better sleep with Aaron after the Ball because you know Dan will be riding the "Lexicoaster." She said it, not me.

Just hours before the Ball, Dan calls Serena to make sure she's ok with him taking Lexi. You know he'd much rather be going with Serena but they are still playing this stupid game. Anyway, she says she's fine with it and never tells him about the 'Lexicoaster.' After they hang up Serena tells Aaron she wants to properly thank him for everything tonight. Like any guy would react, Aaron is pretty damn excited.

Lily calls Bart but only gets his assistant who tells her that he's in a meeting with Andrew Tyler, she tells the assistant just to let Bart know that she's ready for the Ball. After she hangs up she digs through some papers and realizes Andrew Tyler is the private investigator. She calls Bart's assistant back and says to just let Bart know 'nevermind' about the Ball.

At the dramatastic Ball, Blair and Chuck introduce each other to their dates. The dates are absolute look-alikes of Chuck and Blair. This pisses both of them off and Blair says she wants to talk to Chuck. While Blair is telling Chuck she's done playing this game of them pretending not to want to be together their look-alikes are hooking up. When Blair and Chuck come back their dates tell them that they just started talking and realize they really like each other, and then they continue making out. Wow... they move just as quick as the real C+B. This only infuriates Blair more because now she has to watch her look-alike get the look-alike Chuck while she continues to be sexually frustrated. Chuck tells her to just shut up and dance with him. About dang time.

Lily comes by herself to the Ball and meets up with Rufus, who is also there alone. How perfect! She tells Rufus that she is going to be leaving Bart, and not for him but for herself. They dance and then they go outside to discuss things. While they're talking Chuck spots 'em and calls Bart to let him know they're together and he should come talk to Lily. Bart is in the car with the P.I. and tells him to continue looking into Lily's past. Chuck then goes to Lily and tells her that he has always liked her but she needs to talk to Bart. A while later Lily gets a call... and it's not good.

Vanessa arrives at the Ball and the first person she talks to is Jenny. She tells her that she's going to end things with Nate tonight. Then, she goes to Nate and tells him the truth about the letter, and hands it to him. He doesn't say anything, Vanessa walks away crying but just then the music stops, the spotlight turns to her in the middle of the dance floor and everyone sees that her dress is see-through. Vanessa stands their humilated in front of everyone for a moment, long enough to make it dramatic, and then she runs off. J feels bad and is already trying to apologize but Vanessa ignores her. Nate goes to Jenny and tells her about the letter and that it was horrible for Vanessa to do that for her, but this was just as bad if not worse of Jenny to do. He tells her that she is definitely not the person he thought she was. Nate then rushes off to catch Vanessa before she jumps in a cab. Vanessa says she never felt this way for anyone before but it really doesn't matter, Nate says it does though and they kiss. J is watching them as they leave together. B's posse confronts her again and tell her that she's pathetic. 

Dan and Lexi and Serena and Aaron dance. Lexi tells Dan she heard Serena and Aaron are going to be sleeping together tonight. Seriously, does anyone keep their mouths shut? This makes Dan jealous, which I am sure is what Lexi was wanting since she clearly wants Aaron back. A little later Dan and Serena end up dancing and they get into an argument about sex. Dan is trying to get Serena not to sleep with Aaron but when Serena says Lexi was planning on sleeping with him tonight he seems into it, this double standard of course makes Serena mad. At the end of the night Serena and Dan talk and apologize for their petty little fight. Dan tells her that the night they slept together was the best night of his life, which puts a smile on Serena's face. Lily interrupts their convo to ask if Serena knows where Chuck is, she tells Serena that Bart has been in an accident.

On the next GG, I'm assuming Bart died in the accident because it appears they are at a funeral. Chuck buys secrets from some guy and holds it over Lily's head. It looks like things are just getting started.
