Gossip Girl: There Might Be Blood (Episode 127)

Since Gossip Girl began little Jenny has been building herself up and lately things really seemed to be taking off, but this week everything come crashing down. The biggest surprise of all may just be who does, or doesn't, stand by her side.

We begin with J and Agnes - from last week - working away at making some dresses. Apparently the two have baked up some crazy idea to do a guerilla-style takeover of a gala where Lily Van Der Woodsen & Co. are being honored. J thinks that by getting her designs in front of the wealthy people at the gala that she'll get someone to back her as a designer. You know, because life is easy like that.

Not to be outdone Blair and Serena are getting their own drama going this episode. They are meeting with the the Dean of Yale's sister because she is interested in Serena and her sudden fame. When are they going to have the paparazzi start following Serena around? That would be interesting. Anyway, Blair tags along to the meeting but the lady completely ignores her. In order to get Blair noticed Serena volunteers Blair to take the lady's teenage daughter. Emma, to the movies. Blair is thrilled, but goes along with it knowing this might be her only in to get into Yale.

Dan may also be losing his way into Yale because no one is impressed with his writing. He and Nate are still bromancing this week, though you know it's bound to end sooner rather than later. They happen to walk into the loft at the same time J+A are getting ready to leave with a rack of dresses in tow. J looks like she's going to a circus show. I guess I'm not a "hipster" so I don't understand the style but she's wearing a tiny hat that looks like it should be on a monkey's head. Dan doesn't know what she's upto but knows it must not be good. She tells him and begs that he and Nate not tell anyone, especially Rufus. Dan doesn't listen and goes to the Gallery to ask Vanessa for advice on what he should do. Nate stuck back at the loft with Jenny. Dan doesn't know whether to intervene because he thinks she's making some horrible life decisions. As they're discussing it Rufus comes in and overhears a little and asks what they're talking about. Before you know the three are on their way to the loft to sort things out with J. Just as they're about there they see J and Nate jump in some van and take off. They run after but there's no use, they can't catch them in time.

Emma tells Blair she doesn't want to go to the movies, she has another plan in mind. She wants to hit some clubs and party. Blair doesn't want to though fearing that if the Dean finds out then Blair will have no hope of ever getting into Yale. Blair takes Emma to Serena's to get her advice. Serena comes up with an idea for Blair to take Emma to some boring event but tell her it's going to be the hottest party in Manhattan, and she can even wear one of Serena's dresses. Emma goes for the idea and things seem on track, that is until Chuck shows up. As Serena and Blair are off in another room Chuck meets Emma and starts to corrupt her, more so than she already was. Emma is bound and determined to lose her virginity and Chuck doesn't seem to mind taking it. Emma leaves with Chuck, eventually Blair and Serena realize this and freak out.

Jenny and Nate arrive at the gala. She just so happened to grab him a suit from the loft before they left, even though she didn't know then that he was going to come along. Even with Nate at her side Jenny still has to lie about her name to get into the party. She says her name is "Erica Van Der Woodsen" but sometimes they leave off the "a." I highly doubt this would actually work but what do I know. Anyway, it does work for little Jenny and so far her plan is going along according to plan. She and Nate have a little argument and once again end it by making out. This time they get snapped kissing by a Gossip Girl reader and the pic starts circulating the net. J and Nate are blissfully unaware that their relationship is totally public now.

Chuck eventually turns back up at Blair's but before Blair and Serena can beat him too bad he says that Emma ditched him. Yep, Chuck Bass got ditched! Blair makes some calls and finds out Emma has used a credit card at some club so they rush there. When they get there Emma still refuses to listen to Blair and rebels by leaving with some random hipster dude.

Back to the gala, Jenny gets backstage and switches some things around. Meanwhile, Dan checks out Gossip Girl and sees the pic of J and Nate kissing and is pissed. He tells Vanessa and Rufus he knows where they're at but avoids showing either the pic, and they all run out the door. On the cab ride over Dan and Vanessa bicker back and forth because suddenly Dan is changing his tune that Nate may not be such a good guy after all.

Dan, Rufus and Vanessa show up at the gala but none of their names are on the list. Lily just so happens to walk past and spots them. She lets them in and they set off to look for Jenny. Dan sees Nate first and grabs and pushes him against the wall. He tells Nate he better pack and get out of the loft by the time they get back.

Back to the B+S drama. Chuck alerts Blair and Serena to a certain someone in the club. It's Emma's mom and she's having an affair with some guy. Blair figures this is a perfect opportunity to get a pic and blackmail her in order to get into Yale. Serena warns her against it but Blair snaps the pic anyway. A short time later they end up finding Emma as well as tell her to check out Gossip Girl. Eventually Blair and Chuck manage to get Emma to go home, though she's not happy about it one bit. On the way back Blair and Emma have a heart-to-heart where Blair tries to make Emma feel like they are really similar because they both have screwed up mothers. Blair also tells Emma that she shouldn't be so eager to lose her virginity, she should really make sure she loves the person and definitely not do it with a nasty hipster dude. Emma's point about her mom is proven when she returns home and her mom goes off on her because she knows they weren't at the movies based on how they're dressed. Emma goes to her room and then the lady goes off on Blair on how she's definitely not Yale material. Blair starts to go off on her and is about to whip out the picture that she snapped earlier but then decides not to for Emma's sake and instead just tells Emma's mom that she should be a better parent. Blair takes the high road. WTF?

In the midst of all the Emma drama, Serena has also had some of her own drama with Aaron - the artist from last week. Aaron sent over the ring that he and Serena used to get married at camp when they were little. This makes Serena rethink her dating him but then when she goes to call him, a girl answers and she realizes he's just a liar and a player.

At the gala, Jenny's surprise fashion show takes over just as the Van Der Woodsen's are about to be honored. What are they being honored for, you ask? I have not a clue. A video pops up and we see a slideshow of Cory Kennedy-esque pics from the clubs and random places. It's actually very cool, especially for the hipster crowd. While the video continues playing a bunch of models come walking into the ballroom and jump on the tables and start dancing and throwing around polaroid pictures. Everyone is pretty impressed by this surprise show, except Dan, Rufus and Vanessa who know it's Jenny before the whole thing. Jenny, meanwhile, is ecstatic that she pulled it off. She runs to Nate and they kiss. Vanessa spots them and storms off in a huff, Jenny runs off to find her.

Later, Rufus finally finds Jenny and can't express how disappointed and outraged he is with her. She refuses to acknowledge that she's being selfish and when she won't apologize to Lily he calls over the cops and tells them that it was Jenny behind the whole thing and they should arrest her. Jenny can't believe her own dad would do this to her. As the cops are about to arrest her Lily steps in and tells them that she won't be pressing charges. And, she has that authority because Bart owns the hotel. Before Rufus can yell at her anymore Jenny takes off for home.

Dan gets bad news, none of the professors at Yale like his writing and it's not looking so good for him getting in. Serena comes late to the gala and finds Dan and at this point he's in full depression. He's jealous that everything seems to come fairly easy to Jenny who manages to pull off this surprise fashion show and tomorrow it'll be the talk of Manhattan, and nothing ever goes his way.

Nate moves out of the Humphrey's and back to his old house, though he only plans to stay there for a short time. Chuck goes to Nate's and finds everything gone and it finally dawns on him how bad things have gotten with Nate's family. Uh-DUH! Chuck insists Nate come stay with him but Nate refuses. Aaron brings breakfast to Serena and tries to apologize for the girl answering his phone. He goes to explain but apparently his explanation wasn't going to be too convincing so he drops it. She tells him that she doesn't want to date him AND a posse. He says that he can't stop thinking of her, and she admits she really can't stop thinking of him either. Maybe these two will give it a try after all?

Dan tells Rufus that he's going to start doing things Jenny's way because everything seems to be working out for her. Rufus tries to warn Dan that taking the easy route may bring you results right away, they will fade faster and then you're left with nothing. Dan says he's willing to take that risk. Dan goes to check on Jenny but finds that she's gone, totally packed up and gone. This will be interesting...

As the episode wraps up, Blair gets a call from the Yale dean telling her that Emma told him such good things about her and that she is definitely Yale material. So, it looks like Blair and Serena are Yale-bound, Nate is heading out of town, and J is going who knows where. I'm betting she'll be staying with Agnes and photog friend.

Next episode, the drama turns from Jenny to Chuck and it appears Bass Industries may be going down.

Sorry if the recap was a little scattered. With being so busy with the election yesterday I wasn't able to rewatch the episode and had to write it based on memory and unorganized handwritten notes.
