America's Got Talent - The Top Five Are Revealed! (Episode 318)

And I am telling you...she's not going....And I am telling you...she's not going....Finally...it's time to find out who the five most talented acts in America are! A slight criticism - can't they change the montage of camera angles at the top of the show? (Sorry, it's the former tv production worker in me.) First off, as we have 30 whole minutes to fill, we get to see the highlights of last night's performances. They way the producers edited the package, you can pretty much figure out who is moving on. The first acts called to the front of the stage are Nuttin But Stringz and whoever is losing. In this case it's The Wright Kids. At least the finals won't be "nuttin but singerz." And taking a cue from "American Idol", the poor kids now have to watch the "Bad Day" montage of their time on the show. I think that was a little too intense for them - as they're visibly disappointed (especially the lead singer, who bites his upper lip during the whole thing.) One thing - they did show a really short clip of them playing bluegrass and I think they should have stuck to their musical roots.

Next up is Joseph "Hunky Elvis" Hall...and Queen Emily. And...Elvis is leaving the building. No real shocker there. We get one last chance to see Joseph shake it before he heads back to his Dad's restaurant (although he deserves to be in Vegas - and I'm sure we'll find him there really soon.)

After the break, and since NBC still has time to fill, we're treated to a "surprise" performance (which they announced last night) by Natasha Bedingfield. I'm not a fan of her music, but to her credit, she sang her latest single. "Angel" live. Well. Take that, Britney! And if you're reading this, Natasha, love the boots (hate the dress though!)

It's time to break some more hearts and make some more dreams come true. Kaitlyn Maher and Neal E. Boyd are pitted against each other. Jer-ry promised some "surprises" during tonight's show...but Neal moving on isn't one of them. At least Kaitlyn has no idea what's really going on. I'm sure she's enjoying a big ol' ice cream sundae right about now.

And next, my heart is about to be broken, as my sentimental favorites, Paul "Sinatra" Salos and Donald "My Li'l Boy Cougar" Braswell are called front and center. Despite maxing out my votes on the web site last night (sorry, Donald), Paul Salos' journey is done. Dammit! Next time I head to Sin City, I had better see Paul's name on a marquee!

Last up are young singers Jessica Price and Eli Mattson. America loves Elton John, so it's no surprise that they also love Eli - he's taken the last spot in the top five. So, it's going to be a really tight race to the finish this season. The final competition is next week, and all I have to say is that Neal, Queen Emily and Nuttin But Stringz had better bring their "A" game, as victory could be any one of theirs. See you then!
