90210: The Bubble (Episode 4)

Annie's dad informs her at breakfast that the drama teacher had a family emergency and won't be back. As Annie is freaking out thinking the musical is cancelled, her grandmother, Tabitha, says she'll direct the musical. Annie is less than thrilled. Naomi's family is outside taking a family picture and is told her sister will be photoshopped in. She is obviously not happy and refuses to smile. Her dad's phone rings and he walks away to take it. She gets pissed and storms off. Dixon's dad tells him he can drive the minivan to school. They discuss that because the market has been so bad they're having a hard time selling their house in Kansas. Harry tells them they'll be ok, but the gas and food prices are not helping. Naomi's mom tells her that her dad can't come to dinner because he has a meeting. Naomi again voices to her mom that it's not ok with her that her dad is sleeping with another woman. Her mom tells her it's ok because she doesn't live there and that she's not going to discuss it with her again. What is wrong with this woman? How can she possibly think this is ok?

 

Kelly and Brenda have breakfast together and discuss Donna and how cute her baby is. Brenda asks Kelly about Ryan. Kelly tells her the 10 year age gap is a little weird at times. Brenda asks her if Sammy's dad know about Ryan. Kelly wants to know why he should. Brenda says if it becomes serious with Ryan he might need to know.

 

 

Naomi lets Ethan know she's freaking out about her mom and dad. Ethan says he's sorry she's going through this but trails off and Naomi cuts in and says look I know we're not together anymore, but it's really good to talk to you. Dixon hits a very expensive German car in the school parking lot. The owner comes out and asks him why he was trying to fit a van into a compact spot. He asks Dixon for his insurance information, but he asks to settle it between them so his dad won't know. He tells him he can get the cash but will need a couple weeks. The owner finally agrees. Ryan catches Kelly in the hall to ask her out for Saturday. She says she can't because Silver won't be around to watch Sammy. He asks about Brenda and she tells him she has a show. He asks about Sammy's dad watching him and Kelly slowly explains that his dad is a good-doer that travels around the world for charities. She tells Ryan maybe they can do it Sunday.

 

Ethan runs into Annie and says he hasn't seen her around. She explains she's been busy with the play. She asks if Naomi is ok. He tells her it's just the family stuff. Annie asks if they're like back together. He says no he was just helping her through stuff. Ethan asks her about Ty. She says nothing going on with them. They both agree they like hanging out and should do it again on Thursday. Ty literally runs into Annie in the hall. He apologizes for leaving her at the bowling alley, and asks her out for Thursday. She tells him she already has plans. He asks if it's a group thing. She says no it's really a one on one thing. Naomi tracks down Silver and begs her to not blog about her dads affair. Naomi apologizes for what she did in the past to Silver. Wow, everybody's apologizing.

 

Annie's at musical practice with her grandmother, Tabitha, as her teacher. Her grandma says the girls singing have no passion and need to sing like their privates are on fire. She then demonstrates how it should be sung. This embarrasses Annie and pisses her off. Annie tries to talk to her dad after, but her grandma walks up and cuts her off so she can speak to him. Tabitha tells him they need to go over the budget for the musical. She walks off and Kelly walks up to talk to Harry. He asks if she knows anyone that could direct a musical.

 

 

Dixon goes to the Peach Pit to get a job. Nat says he'll try him out and if he doesn't mess up he'll hire him. Harry introduces his mom to Brenda, who apparently is a big fan. Tabitha is not happy when she finds out Brenda is going to be her assistant. Silver and Annie are at the Peach Pit discussing why she's told Ty no. When Annie tells her it's because she's going out with Ethan. Silver tells her Ethan is off limits because it's never over with he and Naomi and that they have their own little bubble. Dixon walks up to get there drinks and Annie asks what he's doing there. She tells him he's a butt kisser, but he tells her he's trying to be more responsible. Naomi's mom and dad are looking at their picture proofs and Naomi hates them. Her dad takes a call and says it's the office. Dixon gets home and tells them he got a job at the Peach Pit. Harry tells him he's proud of him for getting a job, but he should've discussed it with them first. He also tells him that it can't interfere with his schoolwork or Lacrosse.

 

 

Naomi sneaks into her dad's room while he's in the shower and hits redial on his phone. It's Gail on the other end and Naomi hangs up.

Dixon and Silver are riding in her car. She's quizzing him on Biology and he doesn't know any of the answers. He says he'll study after work. Naomi shows up at Ethan's and he tells her it's not a good time. He's having a bad day with Steven because he forgot to tell the cleaning people not to touch the furniture. She says she'll help with him. He's trying to rearrange the couch and obviously has some kind of disorder. Maybe we'll find out later exactly what it is. She calms him down with popcorn and a movie. Tabitha is yelling at Annie through the entire musical practice. Brenda doesn't look happy with Tabitha.

 

 

The car owner shows up at the Peach Pit to tell Dixon he got the estimate for his mirror and his dad is coming back early. He tells Dixon he needs the money by the end of the week. Dixon tells him he'll have it. Brenda taped their practice and shows it to Tabitha. I think she realizes how mean she was to Annie by watching it. She says it was eye opening. Naomi tells Ethan she's going to talk to Gail and tell her to back off and leave her dad alone. She asks him to go with her. Annie is at the Peach Pit waiting on Ethan. He's a half hour late when Dixon says maybe he forgot. Ty shows up with his friends to get a coffee to go. He asks her if these were her plans to just sit at the Peach Pit by herself. She tells him she's waiting for someone. He leaves and she tells Dixon she's stupid for waiting. He tells her she should be with a guy that treats her well not one that gives her grief.

 

Ryan is helping Brenda with a song in her class. He tries asking her about Kelly and Sammy's dad but she tells him she's not comfortable talking about Kelly. Ethan takes Naomi to Gail's store. Gail knows who she is when she walks in. She tells her to back off, to leave her family alone, and maybe try to find a man that's single. Naomi also asks why she's not in Denver. She says she just moved here. Naomi continues to tell her to leave her family alone but Gail says she loves him. Naomi notices an address with Gail's name on it on the counter and says it's the beach house address. She asks if she's moving in to the beach house.

 

Silver comes to see Dixon at the Peach Pit while he's on break. She's telling him she likes to be different. He says he's black living with a white family, it doesn't get much different than that. He says he loves them but sometimes just for a second he feels like he doesn' t fit in. She asks when he's gonna ask her out. He asks how she knows he even wants to ask her out. Annie talks to her grandma and tells her that her dad told her she was going to quit the musical. Tabitha tells her Brenda can handle it and tells Annie what a wonderful job she's doing and that she's really proud of her.

 

Naomi tells her mom that she went to see Gail. This makes her very angry. Then she tells her she found out her dad lied to her and that Gail is moving into the beach house. Her mom is stunned and tearful. Finally she has emotion. Yay for her! Dixon and Silver are in Mr. Matthews class. She tells him he looks tired. He tells her he's been up studying all night for the Bio test. Mr. Matthews announces they have a test and starts passing them out. Silver tells Dixon that the bio test is tomorrow and that the essay is today. Apparently he's not ready. Ethan runs into Annie and tries to apologize. She blows him off and says it's not like it was a date or anything and walks away. She finds Ty and asks him if he can get tickets to a concert and take her. He says he's already got tickets but is taking someone else.

 

Kelly tells Ryan she can't get a babysitter for Sammy. He tells her he feels like there's unfinished business between her and Sammy's dad. Kelly asks why he would think that. He tells her he was asking Brenda about her which makes Kelly mad. She tells him there's nothing going on with her ex. Kelly confronts Brenda and she tells her there wouldn't be a problem if she would get her story straight with men about Sammy's dad. Brenda tells her to just admit she'll never be over "him". Kelly tells her she deserves someone who's going to be there for her. Brenda tells her she's still in love with Dylan and needs to just accept it. Yay, I'm so excited that it's Dylan. I wonder when he'll show up.

 

Dixon's dad shows up at the Peach Pit to ask Dixon why he bombed his test. Dixon says it's because he had to pick up extra shifts because he needs money by next week. His dad wants to know why. He then tells him about the car he hit. His dad writes him a check for the damage, but says he's got to pay him back. He also tells him that his work can't interfere again with his schoolwork.

 

Naomi is sitting in bed with her mom watching a video of her and Ethan at the zoo while her mom is laying there staring at the wall. The next day at school, Dixon gives the car owner his money and that guy asks him to go to a Laker's game with him. Dixon accepts and can't believe it. Silver tells Naomi she won't write anything on her blog about her family. She says thanks but doesn't seem very grateful. Annie tries to give Ty Snickerdoodles she baked for him to say sorry. He says he doesn't want them and that it isn't going to fix things, she keeps persisting and he keeps refusing. Finally, she kisses him and he says that will though because she's so adorable he can't refuse. He asks her to hang out that weekend. Naomi talks to Ethan and thanks him for being there for her. She asks if they can start over and says she's misses him. They agree to take it one day at a time and see what happens. Yet, they kiss. How is this taking it slow? We'll have to wait until next week to find out.
