I guess Hills girls do cry.: Image courtesy MTV.com
After Lauren's voiceover catches us up on the action, we're back in Vegas. The girls have been calling bail bond stores, having come up with nothing after calling the jails listed in the Vegas phone book. What happened to Doug and Brody? It's not long before Frankie enters with Brody and Doug in tow. Naturally, Brody and Doug laugh off the last five hours, which had them filing a police report against a random dude who punched Doug in the face after the guys declined an invite to party with him and some girls he had lined up. Lauren, Stephanie, and Lo are appalled, though the boys swear the attacker was worth the time it took to file the complaint. With that mystery solved, the boys head off to pack. It's time to fly home.
Walking out of the Venetian, one of the girls suggests they all fly back for Doug and Brody's court date. Ooh, fun! No awkwardness between Brody and Stephanie -- ignoring each other -- though not for long when Audrina catches up to Lauren at the cab stand. Though now's not the right time, what with Audrina's bedhead and all, but they need to talk. Lauren says she'll see her at home, then wishes her a safe flight before getting in a car to the airport.
Spencer comes home to find Holly painting her toenails in "his office", aka the couch. He sounds sarcastically supportive when she tells him she's been looking for a job and a place -- "From the couch?" -- though I suspect Holly is used to this. It isn't long for Spencer to get to the point -- when does it ever? -- when he says that both he and Heidi want Holly out, though Heidi would never say so herself. Holly thinks that Heidi could tell her anything, but doesn't believe that Heidi wants her to leave. When Spencer insists that's so, Holly says "Fine. I'm out right now." and leaves.
Lauren arrives at People's Revolution, where Whitney is arranging some clothes on a rack. Lauren's still stressing about Audrina, and how they haven't spoken. They're putting it off because they have things they don't want to say. Thank goodness Lauren has some work to distract her from the problems at home.
Does delicious Korean barbecue make the problems easier to solve? Dunno, but it can't hurt. Justin and Audrina hit Jian for dinner, talking about how Audrina and Lauren didn't talk in Vegas. Justin says it's a problem they both have to solve, and assures Audrina that he will be there for her whatever happens with Lauren. Aw, that's nice, but show me another shot of that delicious grilled meat!
Working girl drama! Kelly calls a meeting at People's Revolution, informing staff that they'll be handling an event for the launch of Dylan George's new line. The party wil be at Area, co-sponsored by Interscope Records for their newest artist, Lady GaGa. Kelly entrusts GaGa's styling to Whitney, trusting that Whitney will guide the client with her own taste for her look. Lauren is excited to help Whitney with such a visible, high profile project while Whitney looks, well, less so. Okay, she looks nervous as hell, but come on. This is the girl who survived tripping on morning television in a dress worn by Hilary Swank. I'm sure she'll be fine.
Busted! Heidi comes home from work to find Spencer nuking something in the microwave, and Holly nowhere to be found. After hemming and hawing, Spencer finally admits that he may have said something to Holly about the two of them wanting her to move out. Heidi is disbelieving, and can't believe that he can't think about anybody but himself. Really? You've been dating this guy for what, two years? Is this really a surprise? Heidi can't stand the sight of him, and stomps into the bedroom.
Lauren and Lo are at home, sitting up in Lo's room. Lauren needs advice. From Lo's perspective, Lauren is unhappy so something must have to change. All she wants is for them to be happy -- yes, even Audrina -- but will Lauren be happy if she loses another friend?
Dylan George/Interscope party for Lady GaGa at Area, and the girls are steaming/ironing fools. People dance, drink, and take in a fashion show while the girls work it. Lady GaGa, who looks fierce as hell, as a broken zipper, but the girls make the zipper work again. Lauren's okay -- zippers are easy, but are friendships so easy to repair?
While Heidi is upset that Holly couldn't come to her when Spencer tried to throw her out, she was just concerned that Holly couldn't come to her. Why would she believe that she'd Spencer to say something she'd never say? The sisters make up, best friends as ever. Oh, I think I'm going to cry.
Tears dry on their own.: Image courtesy MTV.com.I'm awkwardly bobbing my head at the weird shows.
The talk. Lauren's bedroom, which I don't think we've seen before. She totally has a fireplace. I have two hissing radiators in my crappy studio apartment. I'm jealous.
But seriously, one of the most awful and awkward conversations, but also the best. They don't understand how they got to where they are, but they get defensive. Did Lauren just let Audrina drift away? Why didn't Audrina try harder to talk to Lauren? Why didn't Lauren try to include her more? What do they have in common? Lauren kept trying, but felt pathetic whenever Audrina had to turn her down. Audrina admits that it just got too hard to be, or try to be, friends with Lauren through the changes. Who knew living with your two best friends could be so difficult? Tears flowing, mascara ruined, Lauren declares that all she wants is to go back to the way they were. Audrina asks, just as tearfully, if that's what she really wants. Lauren says as much, and that's it. They hug and things are back to normal (one hopes).
