The Hills: "You Know What You Did"

Original Air Date: August 13, 2007

Whitney's back in the Teen Vogue fashion closet, but now she's got her own desk! I'm guessing she got the job. She's wearing a super-cute black mini dress with a heavy gold wooden bead necklace, which looks great. Lauren finds her organizing her workspace, and finds the intern workspaces (and the rest of the closet) reorganized as well. Before they talk shop, though, they get down to business: Lauren's been the subject of rumors that appear on the internet almost as soon as her friends have asked about them. The rumors, the biggest of which being that she and ex Jason made "inappropriate videotapes", have even gotten back to her parents in Laguna. Whitney's only got one (good) question: "Have you heard from Heidi lately?"

Heidi and Spencer are planning a housewarming party. Who knew the phrase "housewarming party" could be so forebodinng? Heidi hand-delivers Lauren and Audrina's invitations to Audrina at Epic, who immediately seeks out intern Chiara to dish. Namely, how could Heidi be so bold as to invite them when she didn't (apparently) defend Lauren against the rumors? Lauren herself had to explain herself when her own mother called. Audrina states that she and Lauren attending the party is simply not going to happen. Lauren tells Whitney about Heidi going to Audrina's work over lunch. Heidi feels bad about not going, but feels it would be awkward. Instead of the party, Lauren will be going to Les Deux instead. Everytime she goes there, she meets a cute guy, so why not go? The cute guy this time is Jason, who is adorable and has an accent and is going back to London the next day. Lauren is quite a bit festive.

Back at the housewarming, Jen comes in, setting off Heidi, who squeals with glee. Heid has missed Jen so much. Jen, who is focusing on her "real" friendships right now. They're both glad Jen's there, though Heidi does wish Lauren was there, too.

The next morning, Lauren and Audrina nurse hangovers while teasing each other about the boys they made out with. Maybe the pre-party wasn't such a good idea after all? Whatever -- they're both young, they bounce back pretty quickly. Audrina has to remind Lauren that she and the guy from London made out a lot. At their house, Spencer and Heidi are miffed that Lauren and Audrina didn't attend. They'll see each other that night, back at Les Deux for mutural friend Frankie's birthday. Heidi passes Lauren a letter at the club, but Lauren doesn't stick around to talk. Audrina tells Heidi she should talk to Lauren, though she doesn't say anything about the rumors. Heidi sticks to Spencer's side, though, so Audrina finds Lauren in the ladies room to read the letter. Heidi finds Launen outside, where they get into a fight. Lauren says that Heidi knows what she did, and that she and Spencer are sick. She started a sick rumor about her, which Heidi denies before calling Lauren a sad person. Lauren goes back inside where her girls console her. Heid and Spencer drive home, in triumph or in defeat, I can't say for sure.

The next day, Heidi gives Elodie her take on the night. Lauren was crazy and accusing her, so Heidi supposes they're not friends anymore. Heidi just doesn't have time for it anymore.

At Teen Vogue, Lauren looks pretty but unhappy. She tells Whitney about the fight in a voice raspy after a night of drinking, yelling, and probably a fair amount of crying. Though she's glad to have Whitney at work, Audrina at home, and Lo back in L.A., Lauren feels like a friend of hers has died. She might be better off in the long run, but right now she'll settle for feeling better in the present.
