Should it be "Whom do you trust?" I'm probably wrong, as I wasn't an English major in college, and I would rather poke myself with a sharp stick before attempting to diagramming a sentence. Grammar aside, there are some relationship issues to resolve -- between Heidi and Audrina, Lauren and Brody and, most obviously, between Heidi and Spencer.
Pool-side, Lauren reveals to Heidi that she isn't sure if she likes Brody. Was she ruined by her relationship with Jason? She continues the conversation the following day with Whitney, who coos while Lauren talks about her date with Brody. Lauren also mentions that Heidi and Audrina are going to dinner that night to have a talk about Spencer.
Over at Bolthouse, Heidi gets the okay from boss Brent to go home for a few days for her mom's birthday. The vacation approved, she heads back to her desk quickly before meeting Spencer for lunch. A co-worker, Max, warns Heidi that she may be reprimanded for the outfit she chose to wore to work. Hmm, if that were the case, why didn't Brent say something about it? She was, after all, just in his office. Heidi thinks nothing of the remark, and casually tells Spencer about it at lunch. Spencer jokes about threatening Max the next time he sees him. Changing the subject, Heidi tells Spencer she and Audrina are having dinner. Spencer warns Heidi to look out for Audrina and whatever ulterior motives she may have, then tries to change the subject back to them. Max and and another Brenthouse colleague, Elly, walk in to have lunch separately, and it's not long before Spencer tries to start something with him. Max walks away but Spencer chases him, yelling at him and pretty much forcing him into oncoming traffic. Heidi has to drag Spencer back to the car. And if you didn't know it already, now you know: Spencer is kind of a dick.
That night, Audrina looks genuinely concerned while Heidi talks about how she felt about Audrina being at her birthday dinner. Audrina denies that she was hooking up with Spencer, and reveals that Spencer had flirting with her. Was he doing it deliberately to piss Heidi off? Spencer had actually called Audrina few weeks ago, possibly while Heidi and Spencer were apart. They end the meal having cleared the air, but I don't know that I believe Heidi when she asserts that she knows all there is to know about Spencer. Back at home, Lauren validates Heidi's assessment of Spencer's caring feelings for her, but even she has to admit that she doesn't exactly trust Spencer.
The next day, Heidi packs for her trip home to see mom. She asks Lauren to go to Area that night and check up on Spencer. Heidi admits her jealousy, and I have to admire her for owning up to her feelings despite her trust in Spencer's feelings for her.
Naturally, we cut to that evening at Brody's condo, where the boys talk about some Playmates coming over before they head out. Said Playmates are blonde, and terribly friendly to the boys, Spencer included, as they arrive at the apartment. They have a few drinks, then head out to Area for the evening's festivities.
Guess who else is heading to Area? Guess who missed her flight back to Laguna? Guess who hasn't told Spencer that she is still in L.A.? If you guess Heidi, then you'd be right.
At Area, Spencer wastes no time chatting up one of the Playmates about her photo shoot, the premise of which is a naked picnic. When the model suggests she and Spencer get together for a naked picnic of their own, Spencer is too much of a sport to refuse the invitation. While Spencer makes plans to dine al fresco, Heidi and Lauren are outside getting the scoop from Brenthouse employee Kristen. Kristen is only too happy to confirm that the boys just blew in with some blondes, and the girls head inside.
Lauren talks to Brody while Heidi fumes. Before Heidi leaves, one of the blondes tells her about what happened at Brody's earlier. Spencer and the naked picnic blonde try to leave, but Heidi intercepts them, confronting Spencer about his presence at the club, the blondes, and everything that happened before she got there.
Back at home, Lauren is on the phone with Spencer, as Heidi is crying and yelling so much that she can't speak to Spencer. It's hard to tell if she's merely angry, or angry and heartbroken. My guess is that's she's feeling a volatile combination at both. Heidi is upset, more so at herself than at Spencer, I think, because she admits that she was really falling for him.
Still at Area, Spencer stares at the phone in disbelief, then leaves with the blondes.
