rewind, recap, regurgitate: "working it"

Lunch. Heidi, Lauren, and, in her only appearance of the episode, Audrina. I know, I'm choking back the tears, too. Heidi exposits that she and Jordan will be celebrating their sixth anniversary. Lauren reminisces that, in high school, a good girl would "give it up" after six months. Heidi looks scandalized, but only barely.

Back at Bolthouse Productions, Brent makes Heidi's day: she'll be helping Elodie on Wednesdays! Back at her desk, Heidi calls Elodie with the big news, and then she remembers that Wednesday is anniversary night, and she'd already made plans to have dinner and go bowling with Jordan. I'm sorry, but didn't we hear this story already? Is go bowling the new slang for "let my boyfriend put it wherever he wants"? Just wondering.

Jason corners Lauren on the street (um, stalker much?) as she rushes to a test, and basically lames his way through an apology for his behavior at his birthday dinner. Lauren, insisting that she wasn't angry, merely says that she was sad that Jason didn't want to spend more time with her that night. Jason, not getting it, just kinda grabs her face and kisses her. Lauren, seeming fine with this, goes on with her day, and Jason is off the hook. Booo! I complain that Lauren needs to stand up for herself, while my roommate rolls her eyes at me. Whatevs. I think it's my empathy that makes me an enthusiastic (if erratic) recapper.

Staff meeting at Teen Vogue starring the delectable Blaine. Editor Lisa announces that Teen Vogue will be presenting a DKNY Jeans fashion show to kick off L.A. Fashion Week. Stylist Jay describes the look of the event, a kind of 60's Karlheinz Weinberger punk/mod scene. Which to my ear sounds like "that Paula Abdul video that was a rip-off of 'Rebel Without A Cause' only, you know, more gay." Whitney and Lauren will assist with the undertaking which, going from the panicky look on Whitney's face, could be a way bad thing.

Bolthouse event planner Jen calls Heidi into her office to over the rules for Wednesday. No socializing -- ironic, no, considering you are an event planner No Uggs or flip-flops -- I couldn't agree more. No drinking, and did we mention no socializing? Heidi's eyes glaze over as we go to commercial.

The next day, Lauren is five minutes late to work. Teen Vogue staffer Lara berates her in quite possibly the most passive-aggressive way possible for her tardiness in front of a bunch of people, including a mortified looking Whitney. Which is to say she does that whole "You know, we really need you to be here because if you're late everything is backed up and that means the world will end" blah blah blah.

And all of a sudden it's Wednesday, which means work for Heidi (the door at LAX) and for Lauren (fashion show). While Heidi holds a clipboard and lets Jordan (fresh from a successful anniversary dinner with Heidi) and a pal into the club, Lauren also juggles a clipboard and tries to track down a wayward model. The model doesn't appear, so Whitney walks in her place. Lauren looks a bit glum as Whitney gets made up and Whitney gets fussed over and Whitney is praised as appearing composed on the runway while Lauren has to wrangle the models and make sure they all get in the right order. All goes well at the show, and editor Lisa and contributor Blaine (!) praise the girls for a job well-done. Hurrah!

Heidi's night ends with relationship drama -- while hanging with Jordan inside the club (which is totally one of the gazillion things that Jen forbade her to do), Heidi exchanges pleasantries with a guy she dated briefly. Jordan gets all defensive and mad. I can't say that I blame him, as the guy was just a little too happy in a skeevy sort of way to give Heidi props, but still. Did Jordan really have to wait for Heidi to get off work just so he could pick a fight with her at the end of the night? I guess he did.

It was during their fight in Jordan's car that my DVR cut off, so I can't tell you anything more about the night. What I can tell you is that Comcast is not my friend, and the only thing that could make me feel better is Blaine from Teen Vogue turning up on my doorstep.

You totally didn't miss

You totally didn't miss anything. They just drove off. I had the same thing happen to me. The trick is to DVR that Cheyenne business that comes on after so you don't miss the endings or scenes from the next show. Just a heads up. Anyhow, I like your rundown of the show. Thanks for the inserted commentary.
