rewind, recap, regurgitate: this fresh meat is starting to turn

Tonya & Johnnie speak! To each other, that is -- they decide that maybe actually talking to each other will enable them to work better as a team. But why would they do such a thing when Tonya's irrationality has worked so well for her in the past? Meanwhile, Wes is still unpopular and sad that the other Austin castmembers are gone. Will Wes take this opportunity to stop being a total dick?

Of course not.

Evan has an athletic hernia! Which sounds painful, and not at all good for his winning streak. He's going to keep his injury to himself, but how long until it affects his performance? As it turns out, not very long at all.

In the "Crossing Paths" challenge, each team member must shimmy across a single rope towards each other, pass each other, and then reach the other side without falling into a river 25 feet below. Diem, the-girl-with-cancer, puts in an amazing performance, as does Evan and his secret pain, but it is Theo and Chanda who win the challenge.

Coral is not happy about getting second place, but could she really feel any worse than Wes, who had to coach Casey through quitting the challenge? Predictably, Theo and Chanda vote to send them to Exile, though they had considered sending another couple like Tina and Kenny, if only to spare their remaining teammates the agony of voting in a couple they liked better, or at least disliked less, than Wes and Casey.

But what ho! The teammates vote in Tonya and Johnnie, who did better than Derrick and Diem, never mind the couples who didn't even finish the challenge: Darrell and Aviv, Eric and Katie, Wes and Casey, Shane and Linette, making it plain that: 1. nobody likes Tonya, and 2. Well, that's it, really.
